Integrating new developments into existing landscapes can be problematic however the master plan has responded to the existing features. By integrating small “places” within the urban courtyards it is demonstrated that views from the internal spaces open into larger context of the parkland.

The built form was designed so that there were a series of urban blocks which front onto streets and greens to provide maximum security via overlooking.

Consideration was taken to allow pedestrians crossing the site to walk between the Eastern and Western belt, as well as a variation in paving to differentiate between pedestrian and vehicular access. Road’s narrow nearer the apartments to create home-zone type spaces with calm streetscape.
