Fenny Stratford


The site is located towards the southern end of Aylesbury Street which forms the principle thoroughfare within Fenny Stratford.

Formerly a motor trade site but has now become redundant. The visual appearance of the site is of poor quality and it represents a large void within the urban fabric of Aylesbury Street.

In general Aylesbury Street comprises a variety of building types of differing scale and proportion, resulting in an eclectic group of components which translates into a continuous frontage of varying rhythms and styles.

Within the overall design there are repeating rhythms of proportion and detail yet each element has a variety within the main structural themes

Apartments are configured to overlook the street to provide both animation and surveillance. At ground floor level a colonnade provides an opportunity to provide balcony areas which are set 500mm above street level to ensure security and privacy.
