Manor Farm

The Old Manor and derelict farm buildings on the outskirts of Wolverton were converted to create a range of contemporary office accommodation in a historic setting.

Key to the success of the project was the juxtaposition of modern and traditional elements, achieved through the installation of frameless structural glass into the existing openings of the traditional structures. The majority of the traditional timber structure was retained with new oak supports inserted when this was not possible.

The clear delineation between old and new was integral to the design process, to make a feature of the restoration work rather than hide it, such as the contrast between exposed oak beams and exposed service conduits.
